Complete your training in Aviation Maintenance Technology at Spartan College while earning your Associate Degree or Diploma and preparing for your Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) FAA certification.¹ In addition to a customized SkyWest experience, you may qualify for several exclusive SkyWest benefits as you complete credit hour benchmarks toward graduation – and Spartan scholarships, if you qualify.

The SkyWest Aviation Technician Career Pathway engages participating students throughout their education experience. This opportunity allows you to train for the professional maintenance team at the largest U.S. regional airline.² Participating students can enjoy their SkyWest experience throughout their educational journey at Spartan College.

Step 3
Complete Your Training

Gain hands-on training using relevant mechanical components with experienced FAA Part 147 professionals in less than 2 years.

Step 4
Test for your Airframe & Powerplant Certificate¹

After you’ve graduated, the SkyWest Aviation Technician Career Pathway requires that you obtain your A&P Certification with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).¹

Step 5
Priority Interview with SkyWest²

Graduates are given a priority interview with SkyWest Airlines. The Aviation Technician Career Pathway also gives you access to interview preparation, mentoring, and networking through SkyWest.

Apply and Interview for the SkyWest Pilot Pathway Program at Spartan College

Step 2
Enroll in SkyWest's Pilot Pathway Program at Spartan College and Receive a Guaranteed Final Interview With SkyWest

Step 3
Academic Delivery in Flight School at Spartan College

In as few as 17 months, you can complete our FAA Part 141 approved program and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) at an ACCSC accredited college earning your Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Single Engine, Commercial Pilot Multi-Engine, Certified Flight Instructor, and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) certifications.*

Step 4
Graduate and Apply to become a CFI at Spartan College

After graduation, recieve a guaranteed interview to become a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) at our flight school and help train more SkyWest cadets to become pilots.

Step 5
Fly Toward Your Reduced ATP Hours**

When you graduate with your AAS in Aviation Flight you become qualified to reduce your Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) hours to 1,250, which you can accumulate as a CFI.

Step 6
Final Interview with SkyWest Airlines

As you approach your 1,250 hours, be among the first to interview with SkyWest Airlines. Being a part of the SkyWest Pilot Pathway Program at Spartan College gives you access to interview prep, mentoring, and networking.

² The SkyWest Technician Career Pathway (“Pathway”) is intended to provide SkyWest with a pipeline of prospective technicians. The Pathway is available to interested Spartan College students who are enrolled in a Spartan technician program (“Program”). Pathway terms and availability may be subject to change. Spartan students in the Pathway may be eligible for Education Assistance from SkyWest subject to meeting specific benchmarks within the Program and after graduation. Any Education Assistance is paid by SkyWest directly to the student and requires a contract between SkyWest and the student. Spartan College is not a party to any contract between SkyWest and the student. Employment with SkyWest is not guaranteed. Students in the Pathway may also be eligible for a Spartan College scholarship. See the College Catalog for additional details.
