Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology announces new president of Inglewood (LA Area) campus
Chris Turen named newest president
TULSA, Okla. (September 13, 2021) ― Officials from Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology announce Chris Turen as the next president, Los Angeles Area campus.

Turen will oversee all operations of the aviation maintenance technology program and airframe & powerplant program at the Inglewood (LA Area) campus as well as all operations of the aviation maintenance technology program at the Riverside (Inland Empire Area) campus.

Chris Turen comes to Spartan from San Joaquin Valley College and brings with him a history of extensive leadership roles in education. He has a diverse portfolio of more than 19 years of experience in leadership of educational institutions and has a proven record of improving student retention, creating and executing campus improvement plans and lowering employee turnover by creating work cultures that promote collaboration, accountability, and engagement.

Turen holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Redlands in California and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Long Island University in New York. He has received the Educator of the Year award from Harbor Gateway Chamber of Commerce and has served as an executive board member for Yes I can Unity Through Music & Education, Inc.
