Pipeline program creates strategy to fill industry shortage with qualified aviation technicians
Officials at Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology and United Airlines announce today the establishment of a tuition discount program for aviation technicians. United Airlines will provide a ten percent tuition discount to eligible employees and family members for all degree programs at all Spartan College campus locations.
“According to a 2017 Boeing study, our industry needs to fill 118,000 aviation technician jobs over the next twenty years,” said Nick Brown, President of Spartan’s Denver campus. “An alliance between our two organizations means that we can offer more opportunities to more students at a competitive rate and help fill this gap with qualified technicians.”
This partnership program will maximize the ability for all those who are interested in careers in aviation to take advantage of a competitive tuition rate with the ability to receive Spartan College training at their four locations throughout the United States.
“The need for aviation technicians is continuing to increase, with no sign of slowing down,” said Kim Pritchard, Sr. Manager for Technician Hiring Programs for United Airlines. “Spartan has a proven history of recruiting and training some of the best in the industry and forming strategic partnerships such as this will play an important part in the health of our industry.”
Headquartered in Chicago, United Airlines is the world’s third-largest airlines. United operates a large domestic and international route network and is a founding member of the Star Alliance, the world’s largest airline alliance with a total of 28-member airlines.
“Spartan is honored to be accepted as a training institution for future United Airlines technicians,” said Brown. “It is a win/win for both organizations.”
