Spartan College Hosts AERO Day Showcasing Aviation Training Programs Across Nationwide Campus Locations

Prospective students, families, and aviation enthusiasts recently had the opportunity to find out during AERO Day at Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology, a hands-on aviation exploration event held Saturday, March 7, 2026, across Spartan’s campus markets in Tulsa, Denver, Los Angeles, and the Inland Empire.

The event welcomed guests interested in learning more about aviation training and aviation careers to explore Spartan campuses through interactive demonstrations, facility tours, and conversations with instructors, current students, and admissions representatives.

Exploring Aviation Training at Spartan College

Throughout the day, attendees dove into the fascinating world of aviation and discussed everything from airplanes and airships to the various components that enable them to soar through the skies - turbines, propellers, wings, hydraulics, avionics, wheels, rudders, and tools for repairs. Visitors explored Spartan’s aircraft hangars, aviation maintenance training labs, avionics training environments, and flight training simulators.

Guests also learned about Spartan College’s aviation training programs, which prepare students for potential careers across the aviation and aerospace industry, including:

  • Flight Training Program – Spartan's aviation flight training program and instruction are comprehensive, giving you the opportunity to learn the topics and skills necessary to be a safe and qualified pilot. Training to become a pilot at Spartan College will give you the experience needed to sit for multiple Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) part 141 pilot certifications and ratings.*
  • Aviation Maintenance Technology – Aviation Maintenance Technology technicians keep aircraft in safe flying condition by servicing, repairing and overhauling aircraft components following stringent regulations set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Technology – Aviation Maintenance technicians keep aircraft in safe flying condition and are certified by the FAA. Aviation maintenance technicians are the highly-skilled, detail-oriented individuals who keep the airways safe and the planes flying.

  • Aviation Electronics Technology (Avionics) –As global airways grow more congested, pilots must rely on aircraft navigation and communication systems to keep air travel safe. Advances in the electronics of traditional aircraft, emerging aerospace industries, expansion of airline fleets, and the increasing use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), has resulted in an increased demand for well-trained technicians with expertise in manufacturing, maintenance, repair, and installation of new and existing systems.

  • Bachelor of Science in Technology Management – The Bachelor of Science in Technology Management (BSTM) is designed for students who wish to strengthen their business and management acumen within technical industries.

At the event, faculty and staff were available to answer questions about flight training, aviation maintenance training programs, financial aid opportunities for those who qualify, and aviation training pathways.

A Legacy of Aviation Education

Founded in 1928, Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology is one of the nation’s first aviation training institutions. Spartan has trained more than 100,000 pilots and aviation technicians from across the United States and more than 40 countries, helping support the global aviation workforce demand.

Events like AERO Day allow prospective students to see aviation education up close while learning how Spartan trains graduates for potential careers in a fast-growing industry facing ongoing demand for skilled aviation professionals.
