Why did you select Spartan College and your program of study?
I’m an aviation nerd and have always been fascinated with tech. So it seemed like it was the most logical choice.
How did Spartan College successfully prepare you for your career?
Spartan gave me the fundamentals of understanding what was happening in the background to fully understand what was in happening in front of me. It is what I truly appreciate from this day, especially when it comes to troubleshooting.
Please describe your career path and how you got to where you are today (Including degrees earned).
I started working at West Star Aviation, right after I dropped out of college to become a teacher. I worked at West Star as a line tech and loved Aviation so much I decided to enroll in the Avionics Program at Redstone (now Spartan). I then graduated and started working in a mom and pop-fixed wing shop and I loved it. It was a huge challenge trying to learn right after school but I was able to put a lot of my skills that I learned in school to use. A while later I found my current job at United Rotorcraft. Which I honestly never saw myself working at a helicopter company but I’m genuinely glad I did the switch. I absolutely love my job. I’ve learned so much and continue everyday. It’s hands on, challenging and it’s always a nice feeling to see it fly away being better then it was when it arrived.
