Why did you select Spartan College and your program of study?: Former friend graduated from Spartan and was the first school to show up when I was searching.
How did Spartan College successfully prepare you for your career?: Gave me knowledge and the basics to start working on real aircraft.
Please describe your career path and how you got to where you are today (Including degrees earned).: Worked in kitchens growing up, then switched from sales to construction and lawn care and security, realized I needed an education to get access to better job opportunities, tried a 4 year college in high school and wasn’t motivated to keep attending and realized any work using my hands and not in an office setting was correct for me.
What advice do you have for current students?: Study and learn for yourself and don’t expect to be given anything,
Please describe the ways that Spartan College faculty and staff impacted you. : Everyone was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Everyone supported me and was there for help if I needed anything, got several side projects for classes just by knowing the instructors and that helped in real world environments.
How did Spartan Prepare you for your day to day responsibilities? What tools and equipment do you use?: Gave me the knowledge to do everything I do currently for work, from hands on maintenance to logbooks and FAR/AD research, as well as working as my own for private owners and various airports on serveral different airframes. Use all basic hand tools and power tools to heavy equipment
What have been some of the high points of your career?: Being recommended for aircraft maintenance for various private owners that reach out to me to maintain their planes, becoming a lead and leading A&P’s and being a mentor and having more knowledge to assist certified and uncertified mechanics.
Please share any additional comments or information, including your future goals, professional involvement and community service activities.: Future goals include keeping current relations with private owners and assisting in opening a maintenance shop to starting work with delta airlines
