Vietnam - Country Requirements

Are you an aspiring pilot from Vietnam?

Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been at the forefront of pilot training since 1928. For students from Vietnam, this is an opportunity to train for a career as a pilot in a program shaped by nearly a century of aviation expertise.

Country Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalency.
  • Be able to obtain an FAA medical certificate.
  • Must be proficient in English.
  • Hold a valid passport with at least 6 months before expiration.
  • You will need to apply for and receive an M1 visa.
  • Must be available to be a full-time student 5 days per week.

CAAV Vietnamese Pilot Conversion Process:

Once Vietnamese students complete their FAA pilot training, then they will need to follow the steps to officially convert their licenses to the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam.

At Spartan College:

  • Minimum 150 flight hours
  • 70 hours PIC
  • 20 hours cross country, one of which must be 300nm or greater with two landing
  • 10 hours Dual instrument training
  • 5 hours night with 5 take-off and landing

Once back in Vietnam you will need to meet requirements from the CAAV.
