Online Learning & In-Person Instruction

The 25 hour online ground course will help prepare you for the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test.

And, the flight course includes 65 hours of dual flight instructions and ten (10) hours of solo flight training in a Cessna 172s that will help prepare you for the FAA Private Pilot Airplane Single Engine Land Practical Test.

Basic Prerequisites

  • Be at least 16 years old to solo
  • 17 years old to take the private pilot check ride**
  • FAA Student Pilot Certificate (completed on-site)
  • Obtain a Current Basic Med or Third (3rd) Class or Higher FAA Medical Certificate
  • Identification Documents (DL/Birth Certificate/Passport) required for TSA/Student Pilot Certificate requirements
**All minors will need parental permission. The “private pilot check ride” occurs at the end of the course.

Aviation Flight Training Program

Spartan’s aviation flight training program and instruction are comprehensive, giving you the opportunity to learn the topics and skills necessary to be a safe and qualified pilot. Training to become a pilot at Spartan College will give you skills and experience necessary to earn multiple Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) part 141 pilot certifications*.
ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE AVIATION FLIGHT

17 MONTHS

In as few as 17 months earn a degree and qualify to earn several aviation certificates including instrument rating.
