DENVER AREA CAMPUS

Located in Broomfield, only 30 minutes northwest of downtown Denver, our 52,000 sq ft site sits adjacent to Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport. This campus trains students in two technology based disciplines. Equipment on campus includes over 80 powerplants such as two Rolls Royce RB 211-22B turbine engines, IFR6000 test equipment, an ADSB test system and multiple aircraft to work on including three Cessna 172s, a Cessna 152, LearJet 24,  Falcon 20, and a Beech C-35 Bonanza.

Aviation Maintenance Technology

Aviation maintenance technicians keep aircraft in safe flying condition by servicing, repairing, and overhauling aircraft components following stringent regulations set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). All aircraft are required to undergo thorough inspections and repairs on a regular basis. These services are provided by trained A&P technicians and approved by certified technicians. Technicians in this field work on aircraft components and systems including airframe, piston engines, turbine engines, hydraulic systems, propellers, rigging, warning systems, and environmental systems.

Aviation Electronics Technology

As global airways grow more congested, pilots must now rely more than ever on the integrity of aircraft navigation and communication systems to keep air travel safe. Advances in the electronics of traditional aircraft, expansion of airline fleets, and the emergence of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), requires trained technicians with expertise in manufacturing, maintenance, repair, and installation of new and existing systems. Aviation electronics technicians play a key role in the development and deployment of satellites, spacecraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), helicopters, and aircraft of all types and sizes.

Spartan College has invested in training aids, including a Falcon 20 and a LearJet 24 to provide students with optimal learning experiences. Our location provides shops and labs for a hands-on learning experience. Some highlights of our Broomfield campus facilities include:

*Housing is optional and provided in full size apartments and offers shared and private bedrooms. Most housing options are located within 10 miles of campus. Collegiate Housing Services provides housing options directly to Spartan College students.

Between attending classes and studying, Spartan College students have a number of activities to choose from during their breaks at our Broomfield campus. Just a car, bus or bike ride away are a variety of options for outdoor recreation, entertainment, restaurants, major league sports and shopping. The difficult part will be deciding what to do among all the options. Additionally, there are a number of scheduled campus activities for students to participate in. What Programs does Spartan College Offer in Broomfield (Denver)?

We offer two Associate degree programs- Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) and Aviation Electronics Technology (AET).

When will I be in class?

Classes are held Monday through Friday for all programs. Day classes are typically held from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. While evening classes are held from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

What kind of training facilities do you have?

The Broomfield campus has classrooms for lecture and presentations. Our hangars for hands-on lab based training and instruction include paint booths, aircraft, rivet/sheet metal stations, engine run-up and tear down, auto-pilot systems, avionics equipment, and more.

When should I apply to your programs?

Enrolling in our programs is based upon the needs of the student, however we recommend that you talk to us as soon as you are ready so we can provide you with more information. Admissions representatives are available to assist with additional questions relating to enrolling and starting class.

Does Spartan College offer any scholarships for those interested in the school?

Spartan College has internal scholarship and grant opportunities to assist in paying for college for those who qualify. Contact the campus Student Services Department or Student Finance Department for details and the application process.

In addition, other scholarships in several areas of study are offered through outside organizations and information on those can be found in the Learning Resource Center. A Spartan scholarship is a bona fide financial grant-in-aid to a qualified student that is issued for recognized and acceptable purposes that include specified criteria that a student must meet in order to be eligible for and receive the scholarship.
