I enjoyed my time at Spartan and still stay in contact with roommates who went through the Spartan training. I can tell you for a fact one can always tell a Spartan trained A&P. They are the best mechanics and employees.

Clifford Sugden

Aircraft Inspector

After leaving Spartan, it took a few months but I landed my first opportunity at a regional airline named Northwest Airlink. I spent several years there and eventually left for TWA Airlines. After a short time there I left for Northwest Airlines where I spent almost 7 years. After early 2000 I took my first position in General Aviation, what a different world from airline work. I really enjoy it and have become an aircraft inspector in Wisconsin. Spartan was a lot of fun and a good education. I also enjoyed working on the maintenance crew at Spartan while I attended school. Good luck to all Spartan graduates.

Jack Neubauer

Chief Inspector

It has never ceased to amaze me the reaction that I get when I tell someone that I graduated from Spartan. The knowledge of Spartans role in aviation and training only the highest quality technicians spreads far and wide, and nothing that I have experienced in my 5 years in the field since graduation has been anything but well taught during my curriculum at Spartan. I've heard more than once, "Of course you know how to do that, you went to Spartan!" That's humbling for me, knowing that I've made the best choice with my degree from Spartan. I began as an entry level technician at Bombardier Aerospace very shortly after graduation. Within 2 years, I was given the opportunity to develop and lead my own department, with my own technicians working under me. 3 years after graduation, I opened my own FBO, and our company has grown, merged, and changed enumerable times. We now own 2 King Air C90's, a Piper Navajo, a Piper Chieftain, a Piper Warrior, a Diamond DA-40, a Schweizer 269C, and a Piper Apache. Our employee base is nearing 100 individuals ranging from A&P's, charter pilots, flight instructors, software developers, and many more. I'll have to say that Spartan has led me down a path of opportunity that is completely unparalleled by any other. Thank you!

Joseph Kulwicki

Line Maintenance Planning Coordinator - Delta Airlines

I attended Spartan for their Aviation Maintenance program from 1990-1992. Besides my A&P license I have also earned my FCC License and my Bachelor's degree. I have worked as a technician for the following companies: U.S. Navy - Avionics Technician Delta Airlines - AMT/Avionics Technician(Line & Hangar) Southwest Airlines - Aircraft Mechanic (Line & Hangar) Bell Helicopter - V-22 Osprey Program Composites I currently am a Line Maintenance Planning Coordinator for Delta Airlines. All of this was possible because of the first step I took by attending Spartan. Every position I have held (except the military) has required a minimum of an A&P License. It is the key element in the aviation maintenance industry. Whether it is commercial aviation, general aviation, or manufacturing. Whether you're a technician or in management. All of these positions will most likely require an A&P License. Even where it wasn't always required, as in the military or some manufacturing, my A&P License put me ahead of others in getting an interview and in knowledge and confidence when performing my job. So suffice it to say, had I not gained my initial education with Spartan I would not have been able to hold the positions I have or be where I am today.

I feel that my career progression was enhanced by Spartan. I have worked for several airlines flying the Jetstream 32, Dash8, Boeing 737, Airbus A320, Dassault Falcon. I recieved type ratings on the Boeing 737, Airbus A320 and Falcon. Presently I am employed with Southwest Airlines as a pilot.
