Prior to and during World War II, Spartan trained pilots of the United States Army Air Corps and the Royal Air Force of Great Britain. Spartan’s aviation school has also developed and implemented specialized fixed-wing and helicopter pilot courses for the Ministry of Interior, Saudi Arabia. We have also provided airline transport training for pilots of Yemeni Airlines, Alyemda Airlines, the United States Air Force, Kuwait Airways, and Royal Nepal Airways.

Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology maintains industry-current equipment to offer excellent hands-on training. For our technical aviation maintenance and airplane electronics training, Spartan has over 19 aircraft. For flight training, Spartan has 2 flight simulators including a RedBird full-motion simulator and maintains a fleet of approximately 40 aircraft including Cessna 152s, 172s, 172 RGs for advanced complex training and Piper Seminoles for multi-engine training.

Spartan - Asia Aviation Academy - Kunsan National University

In early 2010, the Professional Pilot Program of Spartan College began at Kunsan National University in Gunsan, South Korea. The partnership with Kunjan National University was established to provide professional pilot training access to students in Asia. Aviation Maintenance, Avionics, Quality Control and Nondestructive Testing Programs are available in the USA campus but are planned to begin at Gunsa very soon.

Aviation Industry News and Job Outlook

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) states “Student pilots are important to general aviation and the aviation industry as a whole and predicts that over one billion passengers will fly domestic aircraft by 2015.” The  US Department of Labor projects that “Employment of aircraft pilots, aircraft and avionics equipment mechanics and service technicians is expected to increase about as fast as the average of 9 to 17 percent for all occupations through the year 2014.”
