4HrobotThe OKC Homeschool 4-H Robotics Team took 1st place at their regional championship in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, December 5th-6th. BEST Robotics is an organization dedicated to “Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology” by designing robotics competitions for teams to compete in. The OKC Homeschool 4-H Robotics Team is made up of 6th-12th grade homeschool, public and private-school students from across the OKC metro area.

At their local competition, the OKC Homeschool 4-H Robotics Team, the “Ninja Munkees,” won 1st place with their robot and 2nd place overall in the prestigious BEST award qualifying for the regional competition in this year’s Blade Runner game challenge where the robots assembled mock wind turbines.

The robotics competition at the Ft. Smith Regional Championship was intense! However, the Ninja Munkees prevailed and brought home the most prestigious award presented during the games: they won 1st place for their impressive overall performance bringing home the BEST Award!

The BEST Award includes: 1) Competition in the Robotics Game Challenge,
2) Engineering Notebook, 3) Marketing Presentation, 4) Booth Display, and 5) Spirit and Sportsmanship.

The Ninja Munkees robot went on to the Semi-Finals. They also placed 1st in the Engineering Notebook, 1st in Spirit and Sportsmanship, 2nd in Founders Award, and 2nd for the Most Photogenic Robot!
