“Attending Spartan provided me with the necessary skills to succeed from the moment I began my aviation career. The technical training is second to none and showed it's true value when I compared my training with students from other institutions.”

Patrick Grant, Aviation Maintenance Technology Graduate

The Aviation Maintenance Technology program is offered at our campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma (Associate's Degree and Diploma). It is also offered at our Inland Empire, California campus (Diploma) and our Los Angeles, California campus (Associate's Degree).

Associate Degree or Diploma

At Spartan College, you can earn your Aviation Maintenance Technology diploma in as few as 15 months or your Associate of Applied Science degree in as few as 18 months.

Coursework is comprised of 60% hands-on learning, and Microsoft Surface tablets are used to enhance your learning experience, allowing you to complete interactive assignments and take your studies with you wherever you go.

Our Los Angeles area campus even offers an Airframe and Powerplant program, which can be completed in about 17.5 months.

Hybrid Course Offering

Our hybrid course is delivered through a combination of distance online education and partially on ground. We’ve designed this course to enable students to take distance education for the first 13-16 months. Once that portion is complete, the lab work and hands-on training will be completed on-site in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Through our hybrid course curriculum, your schedule remains flexible and lets you decide where and when studying fits into your life. You can keep your current job and spend time with your family while you pursue a career in aviation mechanics. And on-site training in Tulsa is only seven months!

Prepare for certification

All of the above Aviation Maintenance (A&P) programs offered at Spartan College can help prepare you for the Airframe and Powerplant certification required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Students will learn about all types of aircraft, from small engine airplanes to large transport planes like those used in today's major airlines. You will complete critical airplane maintenance training in areas such as:

  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Ignition and electrical systems
  • Fuel systems
  • Pressurization
  • Aircraft welding
  • Turbine-prop and jet engines

Graduate with career options in multiple industries

A&P-certified technicians are able to work across industries, including automotive, and are sought after due to their high level of precision and training.

In addition, you will also learn about hydraulics and pneumatics, fuel systems, pressurization, and airplane welding and engines. These skills can prepare you to earn your A&P certification, which can be a big bonus when you're ready to start applying for jobs.
