An aircraft mechanic has the responsibility of
the maintenance of aircrafts registered in the
United States. Not just any aircraft maintenance
mechanic can repair an aircraft. The Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) requires that all aircraft
mechanics be certified by the FAA. This certification
is referred to as the Airframe and Powerplant certificate
(A&P certificate). Spartan has maintenance
and mechanic programs, which prepare persons to
obtain this A&P certificate and become an aircraft
mechanic providing aircraft maintenance repairs.
If you want to be an aircraft mechanic, maintenance
and repairs will be learned on all parts of the
aircrafts mechanics. The types of systems and components
you could find yourself working on include, landing
gear, hydraulics, cabin pressurization, heating
systems, sheet metal and composite structures,
piston and turbine engines and much more. All systems
and components must be maintained to a high level
of reliability. Aircraft maintenance mechanics
use maintenance regulations established by the
FAA as well as maintenance instructions provided
by the aircraft manufacturer for aircraft maintenance
of a higher level of safety and reliability.
To become an aircraft maintenance mechanic, a
person is required to meet standards established
by the FAA. Most people obtain their A&P certificate
by attending a technical school like Spartan College
of Aeronautics and Technology. The college establishes
an aircraft mechanic training program that is approved
by the FAA. Spartan provides all the necessary
skills to become an entry-level aircraft mechanic
and learn the mechanics and maintenance skills
required by the FAA.
Spartan College
of Aeronautics and Technology offers an Aviation
Maintenance Technology program based on lecture,
theory and practical projects that help a person
improve their skills and meet the mechanics requirements
established by the FAA.
As you can see, being an aircraft maintenance
mechanic opens many career doors. The training
provided at Spartan is an excellent way to start
a rewarding career with many options for your future
in aircraft mechanics.
